Panning what is it?
Panning is a photographic technique used to freeze the motion of moving objects. The idea behind this is panning technique to overcome the problems in capturing fast-moving objects. The characteristics of the image using a panning technique is to focus sharply on objects that move while her background blur or blurred.
How techniques panning photo:
- Select a shutter speed that is lower than you often use. Start with 1 / 30sec and then try to lower Shutter Speed. Shutter Speed that is used depends on the amount of light and the speed of the object, use 1 / 60sec to 1 / 8sec.
- Position yourself in a place where your view of the object will not be hindered by anyone or anything else. Also consider the background of your object, although it will blur, but not to intrude on your object. Background color or tends to produce a nice blur.
- If you use a long lens, use a tripod or monopod with a head that can rotate in order to move the camera to follow an object smoothly.
- If you use the camera with auto focus servo motors you can let the camera do the focus to follow the movement of the object by pressing the shutter button half.
- If your camera does not have auto focus is fast enough you have to do a pre-focus on your camera in a place where you would press the Shutter button.
- Follow the movement of the object while pressing the shutter button half to take the focus on an object, if the movement of your hand has been relatively the same as the object then press the shutter button fully (done as gently as possible to reduce camera shake).
- Once you press the Shutter button continue to follow the direction of movement of the object to the process of shooting is complete.
Finally do not forget to practice, practice and practice. Do a lot of drills in practice Panning technique.
